BRIEF BIO

Pengpeng Xiao is an Assistant Professor in Economics at Duke University. She graduated from Yale University in 2020, and visited Institute for Fiscal Studies from 2020 to 2021 as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow. Pengpeng is an applied microeconomist with broad theoretical and empirical interests in topics such as gender inequality, search and matching, education, and intra-household decisions. Her research is dedicated to gaining a better understanding of labor market inequalities across genders, education groups and family backgrounds. She pursues these questions using both applied theory and applied econometrics, often combined into structural econometric modeling. Her recent work has been published in American Economic Journal: Applied Economics.
