BRIEF BIO
Óscar Afonso is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto (FEP.UP). He teaches in the three study cycles – undergraduate, master’s and doctorate. He is a founding member of NIFIP (Research Group in Public Finance and Monetary Policy), OBEGEF (Observatory of Economics and Fraud Management, currently the president), CEFAGE-UBI (Center for Advanced Studies and Training in Management and Economics) and CEFUP (Center for Economics and Finance at the University of Porto). He is the author of books, book chapters, more than 100 articles in international scientific journals, numerous working papers and communications in international congresses. He collaborates with several newspapers and magazines of the Portuguese press – in particular, Público, Expresso, Visão, Dinheiro Vivo, “i”. He has been carrying out consultancy work, as a member of the technical team and as its coordinator.
