BRIEF BIO

Miguel holds a bachelor’s degree in Management, a master’s in Finance from the School of Economics and Management (FEP – University of Porto) and a PhD degree in Financial Economics from the Saïd Business School (University of Oxford).

 

He teaches at FEP since 1996 where he is also Vice-Dean and member of the Executive Council and the Scientific Council. He is currently Assistant Professor at FEP and Guest Professor at Porto Business School, Kozminski University (Warsaw), and University of Luxembourg. He Is the WP4 EUGLOHRIA academic leader.

 

He was previously member of the PBS General and Supervisory Board and the Magellan MBA Director as also as member of the Bial-Portela Supervisory Board. He had worked previously as corporate controller in a Portuguese listed company and as CFO in a SME from the cork sector.

 

He is author of several academic papers on SPACs, Initial Public Offerings (IPOs), and Private Equity, presented in several finance conferences (American Finance Association, European Finance Association, Financial Management Association and European Financial Management Association) and published in top finance journals (Journal of Applied Finance, International Journal of Finance and Economics, and Journal of Banking and Finance).
