BRIEF BIO
Manuel M. F. Martins is an Associate Professor with Habilitation at the University of Porto, Faculty of Economics, and Researcher at the Center for Economics and Finance at University of Porto (cef.up).
He is the Director the Center for Economics and Finance at University of Porto (cef.up) (2020-present), a member of the Board of Directors of the Doctoral Program in Economics of the University of Porto, Faculty of Economics (2004-2012, 2015-present), a member of the Monitoring Committee of the Masters in Economics of the University of Porto, Faculty of Economics (2019-present) and a member of the Academic Council of Porto Business School (2015-present).
He holds an Habilitation (2016), PhD (2003), MsC (1996) and Graduation (1987) in Economics from the University of Porto, Faculty of Economics.
He is part of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto since 1987, where he has integrated several governing bodies in the past: Council of Representatives (member, 2010-2014), Statutory Assembly (member, 2009), Scientific Council (member, 2010-2019; 2020-present), Centre of Macroeconomic and Forecasting Studies (CEMPRE) (member, 2003-2005, director, 2005-2008), and Board of Directors of the Masters in Economics (member, 2004-2006, director, 2006-2009),
His past positions include: Economist at the Research Department of the Portuguese Business Association (AEP, 1987-2008), Teacher at the Instituto de Estudos Superiores Financeiros e Fiscais (IESF, 1991-1996), Teacher at the Porto Business School (2009-2018).
