BRIEF BIO
Lilian Meneses has a solid academic background in finance field, with degrees in Accounting, Management, and an MBA in Corporate Finance. Holds a Master’s degree in Economics and Business Administration from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Porto (FEP).
Her academic journey combines expertise in corporate and sustainable finance with substantial professional experience in corporate auditing and investment banking. Her research focuses on sustainability, corporate social responsibility, and governance (ESG), particularly their impact on capital markets. Lilian’s master’s thesis, *”The Impact of ESG Practices on the Cost of Debt: Evidence from the US, Europe, and Brazil,”* earned the CFA Society Portugal’s 2023 “Ethics and ESG in Finance” award. This research was further developed into the co-authored article “ESG Scores and Debt Costs: Exploring Indebtedness, Agency Costs, and Financial System Impact,” published in the International Review of Financial Analysis. Her work has been presented in Warsaw, Coimbra, and at the European Financial Management Association Annual Meeting 2024 in Lisbon. Additionally, she holds a CFA ESG Investing certification, emphasizing her commitment to responsible investment practices.
