BRIEF BIO
João Serrasqueiro holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Beira Interior and is currently pursuing a PhD in Economics at the Faculty of Economics – University of Porto. His research interests focus on Macroeconomics, the European Monetary Union, and income inequality. Currently, he is investigating income inequalities within the European Monetary Union, employing counterfactual methodologies to evaluate the impact of the accession on its founding member countries. This research aims to provide valuable insights into the economic dynamics of the region, contributing to discussions on policy-making and economic integration. Through his research, João aims to contribute to a deeper understanding of the socio-economic challenges faced by these nations, ultimately informing more equitable economic policies within the Union.
