BRIEF BIO

Artur holds a PhD in Business Administration with a specialization in Corporate Finance from the University of Minho (2006).

His current research focuses on Real Options Theory and its application to Corporate Finance. He has published over twenty peer-reviewed articles in journals such as Energy Economics, Finance Research Letters, European Journal of Operational Research, Journal of Business Research, Journal of Corporate Finance, Journal of Derivatives, Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, Quantitative Finance, and Review of Derivatives Research.

He teaches undergraduate courses in Corporate Finance, Derivatives, and Real Options in graduate and executive education.

He has contributed to several consulting projects, including for the Independent Technical Committee established to assess strategic options for expanding the airport capacity of the Lisbon region.

From 2011 to 2020, he served as Vice President of the School of Economics and Management at the University of Minho, and from April 2013 to December 2020, he held the position of President of the Pedagogical Council of the same school.

He is now a Full Professor at FEP – School of Economics and Management of the University of Porto.
