BRIEF BIO
Liliana Garrido da Silva is an integrated member at CMUP – Centre of Mathematics of the University of Porto and an invited assistant professor. She has a Bachelor degree in Mathematics, Educational Branch, from the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Porto (2009) and a Master degree in Economics with specialisation in Economic Modeling and Simulation from the Faculty of Economics of Porto (2013). Her MSc dissertation addressed the geographic distribution of economic activity, proposing an innovative discretisation of the core-periphery model. Liliana Garrido da Silva holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics, jointly by the Faculty of Sciences, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Engineering and Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto (2018). Within the scope of doctoral studies, she produced an effcient method to analytically determine the stability of heteroclinic attractors with applications to Game Theory. Between 2019 and 2022, Liliana Garrido da Silva was a researcher at the Faculty of Economics of Porto in the project “New Geographical Economics, Regional Development and Migrations”. She developed new urban economic models to analyse the impact of economic integration and understand regional disparities. Ever since, as an applied mathematician, she works in Dynamical Systems, mainly focusing on economic problems. She has published in international journals of Mathematics and Economics and has actively participated in national and international scientifc conferences and meetings.
