BRIEF BIO
Rui Pedras began his career in the Economic Studies Department of BPA and as a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics of the University of Porto (FEP) in 1982.
He has held Management positions in several national and multinational financial groups in universal banking, investment banking, insurance, and pension funds. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the CMVM (Portuguese Securities Market Commission).
He also served as President of the Association of Pension Fund Management Companies, in addition to being a member of the Advisory Council of the ISP (Portuguese Insurance and Pension Funds Supervisory Authority) and the National Council of the Securities Market, as well as an executive member of the European Federation for Retirement Provision.
Since 2021, he has worked as an independent consultant for various entities and started a PhD program in Economics at the Faculty of Economics of Porto.
He has published various texts on insurance, social security, pension funds, and capital markets.
